How do I choose the right canoe for my needs?

Consider where you’ll be paddling and how many people will be in the canoe. For solo paddling, a lightweight and narrow canoe is ideal. If you’re paddling with family or friends, a larger, more stable canoe is recommended. We offer a range of canoes for different types of water and paddling experiences. Swing by one of our shops or call us to speak with an expert.

How do I choose the right paddle for my kayak, paddleboard, or canoe?

The right paddle depends on your height, the type of watercraft, and your paddling style. For kayaks, consider the length, blade shape, and material. Paddleboard paddles should be about 6-10 inches taller than you, with adjustable options for versatility. Canoe paddles vary in length based on your torso size and the canoe's width. Stop by one of our locations and we will help you find the perfect paddle for your needs.

What’s the difference between a sit-on-top and a sit-in kayak?

Sit-on-top kayaks are open on top, offering easier entry and exit, and are ideal for warm-weather paddling and beginners. They’re also self-bailing, meaning they drain water that enters the kayak. Sit-in kayaks have an enclosed cockpit, providing better protection from the elements and more control in rough water. They’re generally preferred for colder climates and longer trips.
